New: Only ship complete orders
Starting today, Picqer lets you choose whether orders can be delivered in parts or only once all products are in stock. In addition, all backorders now include a 'priority' to ensure fairer allocation.
Reduce the number of shipments
Previously, Picqer always created picklists for products that were in stock at that moment. Products that were out of stock were placed in backorders, which would generate their own picklist once the items were restocked. In other words, Picqer always used partial shipments.
By disabling partial deliveries, you significantly reduce the number of shipments, which lowers your shipping costs.
Set your default
In the settings menu, you can now configure whether orders should be shipped partially or only when complete by default. All accounts currently default to allowing partial shipments, as this was the only option previously. If you now prefer to ship only complete orders, update your default in the Settings section.
You can override this default on a per-order basis. For Magento integrations, you can also define whether orders coming through that connection may be delivered in parts. Of course, this can also be configured per order via the API.
Fairer backorder fulfillment
Previously, all backorders for a product were grouped and treated as a whole. This meant that new customers might receive back-in-stock items before earlier customers who had already been waiting a week. This is now a thing of the past.
Picqer now tracks backorders per order, including the quantity required, priority (by default based on order time), and the number of units already available. Every time the stock level or backorder status changes, Picqer recalculates which customer is entitled to the available stock. This ensures a fairer distribution of products.
Just created a high-priority order? You can click 'Prioritize backorders' in the order. This places all backorders for that order at the front of the queue, ensuring they receive the next available stock.
