The fresh new Picqer

Every week we make small and medium updates to Picqer. But once in a while, there’s a big one. And now is the time for the next big change: the fresh new Picqer.

The new version launches on March 1, 2015. Below you’ll find the most important updates.

Cleaner layout

In this new version, we’ve redesigned the navigation structure. Thanks to a new menu and breadcrumb navigation, you can move around faster and more clearly see where you are in Picqer.

The entire interface is now more modern and calmer. This makes the information easier to digest and helps reduce errors. Plus, we think it just looks better.

New features

Alongside the design and interface changes, we’ve also added and improved functionality—more than 150 improvements in total! Too many to list here.

The biggest updates are in the orders and picklists. And Picqer now works faster and better on mobile devices.

Picklists

Everything related to picklists has been completely redesigned, so this is where the biggest changes are. And we’re really happy with the results :)

We’ve changed the default order of operations when working with picklists. From now on, you pick the products first, then create the shipment, then the invoice, and finally close the picklist manually. Picklists will no longer close automatically when all products are picked. This gives you more flexibility in how you use picklists.

This new workflow is guided by the progress action bar at the top of the picklist. It shows you exactly what to do next and makes onboarding new team members a lot easier.

Barcodes are now faster and easier to use. Every picklist now has a barcode in the top-right corner. You can scan that barcode from any page in Picqer, and the picklist will appear instantly. You can then scan product barcodes right away, and Picqer will automatically recognize the products.

Orders

When creating a new order, you can immediately add a new customer, including their address. The process for creating new orders is now consistent across all entry points. So, no more unexpected screens!

Mobile devices

Picqer already had a custom layout for iPhones and iPads, but the new version is fully responsive and works on all screen sizes. The changes to picklists also make picking on mobile devices easier and faster—especially when using a barcode scanner.

Launching March 1, try it now

The new version of Picqer will launch on Sunday, March 1, 2015. You don’t need to do anything. When you log in on March 1, you’ll be using the updated version right away.

Because this is such a major change, you can already try out the new version now. That way, you won’t be surprised on launch day.

When you log into Picqer today, you’ll see a button on your dashboard that takes you to the fresh new Picqer. It uses the same data, so you can already start working with it.

Months in the making

We’ve been working on this new version for months, and we’re very happy with the result. The new interface lays the groundwork for many of the features we have planned for 2015. So you can expect lots of exciting updates this year!
