Custom order numbering in Picqer

Until now, Picqer used a fixed numbering format for orders and picklists, always in this style: 20130293. That meant a maximum of 4 digits for orders per year and therefore a maximum of 9,999 orders and picklists processed through Picqer annually. Fortunately, several users are approaching that limit, so it's time for more flexibility.

More options and full control

Starting today, you can define exactly how you want the numbering to be structured. You can configure:

  • Prefix text (for example, the "O" for order)
  • Year display (whether the number should start with the current year)
  • Separator (text between the year and the number, such as a dash)
  • Number of digits to use (smaller numbers will be padded with leading zeros)

This lets you create numbers like: 20130293, O2013-0028173, B072788, 15, Picqer-Order-2013-2918. You can truly customize it to fit your preferences.

Separate numbering for orders, picklists and purchase orders

Want to use different numbering formats for orders, picklists and purchase orders? You can! Each of the three document types can have its own numbering preferences. This allows you to assign different prefixes, include the year in some and not in others, and apply different formatting per type.

Maximum flexibility and future-ready!
