Automatic printing per warehouse and more

The launch of the fresh new Picqer was a great success. We received only positive feedback about the new workflow and design.

After the launch, we got to work on new features. Today we’re releasing the first update with 5 new improvements. The biggest one: automatic printing settings per warehouse and per user.

Printing per warehouse and per user

Until now, automatic printing in Picqer used HP ePrint, where you could select one printer for picklists and one for packing slips. But as our users grow, more customization is needed.

We now use PrintNode for automatic printing. Compared to HP ePrint, PrintNode offers several benefits: it supports all printers, and you can now print shipping labels automatically. It also works much faster and is less prone to errors.

PrintNode is a program you install on your Windows or Mac computer. It makes all connected printers available in Picqer. In Picqer, you can now choose per warehouse which printer to use for picklists. This way, they’ll automatically print in the right location. You can also configure per user which printer to use for packing slips and shipping labels. This allows for separate printers at each workstation to support automatic printing.

Go to the Help Center for step-by-step instructions on how to use Automatic Printing.

Automatic printing is available with the Team plan.

Easily update user profile photos

User profile photos make it easier to see who performed which actions in Picqer. But setting them up used to be inconvenient, requiring a separate login through Gravatar.

Now, you can update profile photos directly in your user settings in Picqer. We’ve made it much easier, so hopefully more people will start using it.

Customer addresses with separate company and contact name

Previously, addresses had only a contact person without a separate company name, which could cause confusion. Now, every address has both a company name and a contact person.

Products with unlimited stock no longer appear alone on picklists

If an order included out-of-stock products along with one product that had unlimited stock, the system would generate a picklist for just that one unlimited-stock product. We’ve changed this. Now, products with unlimited stock will only appear on a picklist once other products in the order are also available.

Tags in the API

The API now exposes tags for products, customers, and orders. This gives you even more ways to build useful tools with the API.

These updates bring more helpful functionality to Picqer. We’d love to hear what you think—let us know!
