Bulk locations not on picklists
If you use bulk locations, Picqer knows the difference between stock in bulk locations and stock in pick locations. Picqer will always prioritize stock from pick locations over stock from bulk locations for picklists. Is your pick stock empty? Whether bulk locations appear on your picklist or not depends on your process—some prefer showing bulk locations, while others prefer to replenish pick stock first.
General setting
In the general settings, you'll find the option "Bulk stock on picklist". This allows you to choose what should happen when the pick stock of an ordered product is empty.

Bulk stock on picklist
The default setting is: "Allow bulk stock on picklist". If only bulk stock remains, we will show the bulk location on your picklist.
You can then pick the product from the bulk location and also replenish the pick location for next time.
If you move stock from bulk to your pick location, we do not automatically update existing picklists from the bulk location to the pick location—unless you move all of the stock. This means other open picklists for the same product may still show the bulk location.
Keep products in backorder
The second option is: "Keep products without pick stock in backorder". In that case, products with only bulk stock will never appear on your picklist*. Is your pick stock empty? Then new orders for that product go into backorder. You must first move stock from the bulk location to the pick location, and only then a picklist will be created once you process the backorders again.
This option is useful if you never want order pickers to take products from bulk locations. It's important to monitor the replenishment advice and restock your pick locations during the day when needed.
* Picqer will never choose a bulk location for a new picklist, but there are 2 situations where a bulk location may still appear on a picklist: you can move stock from a pick location to a bulk location—if that location is used on a picklist, the allocation on that picklist will also update. And if you change a location to a bulk location after it’s been assigned, the picklist remains linked to it. In both cases, the picklist will show the bulk label.
