Magento 2 PostNL Pickup Locations
This method only works with Magento 2. For Magento 1, you need our Magento 1 extension.
In collaboration with TIG, the developer of the official PostNL plugin, pickup location support in Magento 2 became much easier. You only need the official PostNL plugin for Magento 2, and Picqer takes care of the rest.
With PostNL’s pickup locations, you allow customers to choose a pickup location in your webshop. Picqer will automatically generate the correct PostNL shipping label when processing the picklist.
This gives your customers the option to choose how and when their order is delivered, without extra work in your warehouse!
How it works
In your Magento 2 webshop, you use the official PostNL extension. This allows your customers to select a shipping method and choose a pickup location.
Picqer automatically recognizes when an order contains pickup location information and downloads that information into Picqer.
When you create a PostNL label in Picqer, Picqer will send this information to PostNL and generate a pickup location shipping label for you.
This only works if you ship directly with PostNL. It is not yet possible to create pickup location shipments using third parties.
Preparation
Before you can use this extension, you need the following:
Installation
Install the PostNL extension for Magento 2 in your webshop.
Go to your PostNL shipping service in Picqer and add a profile, selecting the appropriate products for all the different shipping options.
- Product Code NL: for regular PostNL daytime shipping, for next-day or specific-day delivery in the coming week.
- Product Code NL Evening: for evening deliveries from PostNL on a specific day, typically Tuesday or Thursday.
- Product Code NL Pakje Gemak: when the customer wants to pick up their package at a PakjeGemak location.
- Product Code NL Parcel Machine: when the customer has chosen a parcel locker. The customer will always receive an SMS with a code to use the locker, which is why a mobile number is required in Magento.
- Product Code EU: when a customer provides an EU address, they cannot select a pickup location, and this product code is always used.
- Product Code Global: when a customer provides an address outside the EU, they cannot choose a pickup location, and this product code is always used.
Linking Order Fields
You can also link custom order fields to attributes that we receive during the import of an order from the PostNL extension by TIG.
For this, you need to use the prefix tig_postnl_regular. For example, to link the type attribute, you would use tig_postnl_regular.type
