MCP server

The Picqer MCP server lets an AI assistant work with your Picqer data, such as orders, products and stock. You set up a profile once, then connect any AI assistant that supports MCP.

The MCP server is in beta. This is a public test, so features may still change.

What an assistant can do

A connected assistant reads data from Picqer and answers questions about it, such as orders, picklists, products and stock.

Give a profile write access and the assistant can make changes as well, such as pausing orders, assigning picklists and correcting stock.

A number of irreversible actions are deliberately left out, such as processing orders, closing picklists and creating shipments. You still do those steps in Picqer yourself.

Setting up the MCP server

The MCP server runs in its own environment alongside Picqer. You create an account there and connect your Picqer account with an API key. You need administrator rights in Picqer, because only administrators can create API keys.

1. Go to mcp.picqertest.com and click 'Create account' to sign up with your email address.
2. Open 'Security' and click 'Enable two-factor authentication'. Two-factor authentication is required before you can create a profile. Store the recovery codes somewhere safe.
3. Create an API key in Picqer for this connection. Use a separate key so you can revoke it on its own later.
4. Click 'New profile' and fill in 'Profile name', 'Picqer subdomain' and 'Picqer API key'. Under 'Safeguards', choose what the assistant is allowed to do.
5. Copy the profile's 'Connection URL' and add it to your AI assistant as an MCP connector. While connecting, you sign in to your MCP account and grant the assistant access.

What you control per profile

A profile determines which Picqer account and which data an assistant can reach. Every profile has its own 'Connection URL', so you can run several profiles side by side with different levels of access.

• Access mode: with 'Read only' the assistant can only retrieve data. With 'Read & write' it also gets the tools that create and update data.
• Expose customer data (PII): when this is off, the tools for customers, users and comments are unavailable and personal data is removed from orders and picklists. Only turn it on if the assistant genuinely needs customer data.

Security

Your API key stays on the MCP server, is stored encrypted and is never passed to the AI assistant. The assistant only works through the profile's 'Connection URL'.

Want to stop a connection? Delete the profile on the MCP server and revoke the matching API key in Picqer.
