Preparations for using Picqer
Once you know you are going to use Picqer, it is helpful to prepare properly for a smooth start.
1. Productcodes
Are you connecting your stores to Picqer? Make sure that productcodes or SKUs are filled in for all stores and that they are unique. Each size or colour of a product should have its own unique code. Do you have multiple stores? Ensure that identical productcodes refer to the same product across all shops.
2. Locations
Before beginning the setup, it is advisable to have a clear overview of your warehouse layout and storage locations, so they can be configured correctly from the outset in Picqer.
This includes thinking about the location of your packing table, where specific products will be stored, and which location numbering system you want to use.

3. Inventory
It is helpful if you already have an idea of your inventory levels. If you connect a webshop, we will import the stock levels as they are listed in the webshop. You can also import inventory in Picqer via Excel.
If these stock levels are not fully accurate, you can gradually count your warehouse inventory after you have started using Picqer and update the stock levels accordingly. You do not necessarily need to count all your inventory before getting started with Picqer.
4. Hardware at the packing table
It is recommended to have a computer (at standing height) at the packing table. This computer should have a stable internet connection.
In addition to your computer, it is also a good idea to look into a suitable (label) printer.
This is the hardware you need at each packing table
5. Picqer app
The Picqer app allows you to work quickly and paper-free in your warehouse. Download the app for iOS or Android on your phone, or install it on a mobile barcode scanner.

6. External integrations
Do you use other software alongside Picqer, such as accounting or purchasing software? If so, consider in advance how and whether you want to integrate it with Picqer. We offer a number of standard integrations, and there are also options to build your own integration using our API.

7. Check, check, double-check
Do you have everything in place for the big day? Let us know and we will be happy to review things with you to make sure nothing is overlooked. We can schedule an onboarding session together for this.
